The truth is that Algarve is an expensive area. And in recent years, tourism has increased dramatically. You also have to bear in mind that the hotels in Portugal are not the same as in Spain. • Tivoli Lagos HotelThis was our hotel of choice during our trip to the Algarve. Located in the centre of Lagos, this 4-star hotel allows pets up to 25 kg for a supplement of €25 per stay. We chose it for the location and the price. It is a bit old and in need of renovation, but of everything we saw, this was the best option. From €100/night, but in high season it can go from €150/night.
• Tivoli Alvor Hotel: another hotel in the Tivoli chain, but a 5-star hotel, so you can imagine the high standard. Pets up to 25 kg are allowed for a supplement of €25/day.
• Tivoli Carvoeiro Hotel: the Tivoli chain is part of the NH hotel group, which allows pets up to 25 kg and with a supplement of €25 per day. From €120/night. This is a 5-star resort located very close to Benagil, one of the best known areas of the Algarve.
• Tivoli Vilamoura: another great 5-star hotel located in the town of Vilamoura. Pets up to 25 kg are allowed for a supplement of €25 per night. From €200/night.
• Pestana Vila Sol Golf & Resort: another 5-star hotel, which allows pets up to 15 kg, but the price is not specified. From €120/night.

There are a few more hotels, but we have collected the ones that were not crappy, were well priced and that are between 3 and 4 stars, even some of them 5 stars.
